New Boeing 737-800 delivered to CanJet
CanJet takes delivery of new aircraft & introduces seat selection
HALIFAX, Dec. 13 /CNW/ - CanJet Airlines announced today that it has taken delivery of two next-generation Boeing 737 aircraft for operation during the upcoming winter charter season. The 737-800 series aircraft will have a seating capacity of 189 passengers and will be equipped with a drop-down video system providing passengers with comfort and convenience during their vacation travel. The next-generation 737s are fitted with Blended Winglet technology that increases fuel efficiency and range while reducing takeoff noise and carbon emissions. On a typical 1,500 nautical mile flight, the 737-800 will have almost 100 kg less in CO2 emissions per passenger compared to the 737-500 series aircraft they are replacing. These aircraft will operate flights from Quebec City and Montreal for the upcoming winter charter season. CanJet will be adding an additional two 800 series aircraft in the first half of 2008 as it continues its fleet renewal program. CanJet is also pleased to announce the introduction of advance seat selection for flights operated on behalf of its tour operator partners. Passengers can purchase the seats they want to sit in prior to their flight via CanJet's website, www.canjet.com. Seats can be purchased from 7 days prior to departure date until 3 hours prior to departure time. CanJet Airlines is a division of IMP Group Limited, Halifax, Nova Scotia, one of Canada's Top 50 Best Managed Companies and one of Canada's largest aviation and aerospace companies. The airline division provides charter services with a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft. For further information: Chris Kelly, Director, Commercial Services and Strategic Planning, (902) 873-7800
