Skytrader A319 Hobart to Antarctica
Here are some shots of the Skytrader's Airbus 319 landing on the blue ice
runway of the Wilkes runway, at the Casey base, in the Antarctic It operates between Oct & March, each year, between Hobart/HBA & Wilkes in Antarctica. It's a 4.30 hour flight, each way! Return fuel must always be carried in the event of a sudden, adverse weather condition preventing a landing Th aircraft can accommodate between 30 thru 60 PAXX , but it's predominantly a freighter (ie a Combi!)
